Exactly one week after Ike, we are still in Hot Springs. Enjoying our free time and friends. We are anxious to go home and get about our normal lives. Not to mention i miss Katje a lot. But right now we are in the best place anyone could be. Alan and Joe are taking such good care of us. I stopped thanking them, because it was probably getting annoying... :) So far we have been relaxing. Hot Springs is a cutesy little town in a National Park. Lots of hiking trails and near a lake. So enough to do! Thomas has been drawing a lot in the park, while i check out the shops and take photo's around town. Today we went to a car show, all these old vintage cars. I took lots of photo's but i'll put those up later. The pics i attached are from around the house and town.
So, we dont know much. I check the school website everyday. There is a place where staff can type a little something to tell that they are okay. Some lost part of their house or their cars. Very sad to hear their stories. But they are all with their family and as far as Vegas!
All they told us was that 3 days after Galveston gets power back, we will start again. The question is; when will Galveston get power back. Our friend Wait in Houston still doesnt have power.Isnt that awful! So we just wait and see. Our neighbours decided to go back home. They are going to go in our house and air it out and clean our fridge. So sweet of them.
Anyways, we are in a good place and trying to relax.
