APPROVED!!!

After 7 months and 2 days or 216 days we finally got approved for the K1 visa! It feels so good!
I arrived at the embassy early and waited in line with some other people. At 1.30pm we wend inside and had to go through 2 metal detecters. Once inside we were told to wait in line at desk 5. There my papers were checked and he took my birth certificate, police records etc.. Then sat down and waited until i heard my name. Then i had the interview. I got 3 questions: How did you meet, How do you keep in touch and what is his job? Other than that, nothing! I was approved. When i got home at night i saw i had 3 missed calls from the embassy! I got scared. I emailed her to call me in the morning and so she did. They forgot to have me sign a form, so im going back on monday to do that. Plus i immediately get my visa! So i will post a pic of that tomorrow! We are finally done... for now! Wooooooo Woooooooo!

Got the dress, now a visa

Yesterday my mum and i wend to Utrecht to find me a dress. It took 5 hours and blood sweat and tears before we found one. I cant tell too much about it as Thomas knows this site, but oooohh i will look prrrrrretty! :) I got it at Noa Noa. So im very happy as i didnt want another day looking around in the city!
So after we got it, i thought lets go to Swarovski and see which jewels would go with it. So im trying some earrings and necklesses, but im not buying anything until next sat, so we left. I get home and an hour later i realise, i still had one of the earrings in!! Hahaha! Noice! So today i rang and told them and they thought it was funny too. But yeah.. they want it back!
So dress done, next is my visa!

Medical Exam

On Monday the 5th i had my medical exam:

I stayed at my brothers house in Amsterdam the night before. The next day I took the tram to Museumsquare. It was easy to find the drs office and so i got there 15 mins early. The assistent was really helpful and nice eventhough the phone was ringing non-stop. She prepared my papers (put stamps and dates) and wend through one of the forms.
She then checked my vaccination book and i didnt need any more. MMR i had when i was 9 and DTP boost i did at my own dr. Then she told me to go ahead and go do the xray at the clinic. Im guessing because they were running late and i could come back later and be seen to straight away.
Sooooo i walked to the clinic. The xray took all of 5 mins and then I paid the 50 euros and left. They sent the xray once checked to the embassy.
Soooooo i walked aaaaall the way back to the dr. I was indeed seen to straight away. First by his son (also dr), he took blood. Then on to the office to do the examination. He asked some more questions about my medical history. Then he measured me, weighed me (i need to lose some pounds...) checked my blood pressure, eyes and mouth and then made me breath and listened to my heart and did some knocking on my chest and back. That was it. He explained me that if i wouldnt hear anything this week, all would be fine. All documents are being sent to the embassy. Oh yeah... and i paid 155 euros.

All in all it was pleasant and fast. My first appointment was at 10, then xray at 12pm, but somehow i walked to the trainstation at 12pm. Hmm.. Very flexible. The dr was nice and asked me all about my new home and husband.

So now; no news is good news!

My New Home

Galveston is a city and the seat of Galveston County located along the Gulf Coast region in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. As of the 2005 U.S. Census estimate, the city had a total population of 57,466. Galveston is accessible by a causeway linking Galveston Island to the mainland on the north end of the city, a toll bridge on the western end of the island, and by ferry boat service on the east end of the city.
Galveston is known for its historic neighborhoods and a ten-mile (16 km) long seawall designed to protect the city from floods.

The city houses many tourist attractions. The attractions include the Galveston Schlitterbahn waterpark, Moody Gardens, the Lone Star Flight Museum, a downtown neighborhood of historic buildings known as "The Strand," many historical museums and mansions, and miles of beach front. The Strand plays host to a yearly Mardi Gras festival, Galveston Island Jazz & Blues Festival, Texas Beach Fest, Lone Star Bike Rally, and a Victorian-themed Christmas festival called "Dickens on the Strand" (honoring the works of novelist Charles Dickens, especially A Christmas Carol) in early December. Galveston is also home to the Balinese Room, a historic nightclub, formerly a notorious illegal gambling hall, located on a 600 foot (180 m) pier extending into the Gulf of Mexico.

In 1900, the island was struck by a devastating hurricane, an event that still, even post Hurricane Katrina, holds the record as the United States' deadliest natural disaster. The city was devastated, and an estimated 6,000 to 8,000 people on the island were killed.
Though the storm stalled economic development and the city of Houston grew into the region's principal metropolis, Galveston has regained some of its former glory. Today it is considered a major tourist destination and remains a port of entry and a destination for cruise ships, and a port of call and repairs for cargo ships. Galveston is currently ranked the number 1 cruise port on the Gulf Coast and number 4 in North America.
Galveston's historic downtown and abundant beaches are major tourist destinations. Houstonians and visitors from around the world purchase beach homes and condominiums and make Galveston their second home.
Other attractions in Galveston include Moody Gardens, the Galveston Railroad Museum, Schlitterbahn, the Strand and the Lone Star Flight Museum.
