I am starting to hear more and more that people are leaving the district. Hopefully some of them are secretaries! Thomas is now even applying for Chicago, Portland and other cities that we have never been but we know we'd like. Its crazy, i never thought we'd be going through this the day before Ike hit Galveston. I was reading my old posts and i was talking like we were going to be gone for 4 days at the most! We were even going to stay!! Nobody expected this. If UTMB leaves the island, we will have lost 10000 (yes, 4 zero's) people from the hospital alone. Not counting any other businesses or all the homeless people after the government housing was destroyed in the hurricane. Phew, its going to be hard!
On a lighter note.. This weekend is THE Mardi Gras Party! I got my feather boa, beads and other decorations. We will have most likely about 5 house guests, i have no idea where they will sleep but i know that we will end up on the couch I'm sure! =)
Other than that we are definitely going through with the roadtrip. I am soooooooooooo excited! We will see Nathan and Rachael in Austin, Kelley and Daniel in Dallas, Alan and Joe in Hot Springs and hopefully some of MY family in Birmingham! We'll be visiting Graceland in Memphis and eating supposedly the best BBQ in Nashville, visit Johnny Cash's grave in Hendersonville, who knows maybe a stop for some Jack Daniels at the brewery in Lynchburg, TN. In New Orleans we are going to try to stay in one of the haunted hotels!
