To the middle and back again and lots more events this week.

Okay...
So on thu 20th we had Thanksgiving dinner at school. Everyone brought drinks, food and utilities. Ms Woods and I set it all up in the teachers lounge.
Friday we left work early to get on the road to Dallas. We got to Kelley and Daniels at 8, had dinner and went out for a drink at the the Dutch bar in downtown. I found this bar randomly online and it’s a gem! It looks old in the inside and dark with candles, just like home! Anyways, in the morning we got up early and left for Kansas. It was a loooong ride, with one stop in Oklahoma City in Oklahoma. We finally we were in Kansas ! We had reached the middle of the USA! 1100 km!! So, I met Justin, Thomas’ college friend, for the first time. We walked around and later on went to a pub called the Anchor. The next day he showed us his work (he works for FOX channel) and drove around Wichita for a while. It’s a cute city. At night he invited some friends and we had a little party! On Monday we drove to his hometown of Coffeyville. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a whole lot of gang-related history here; the Dalton Brothers were captured and killed here! We also visited the house he grew up in where his mom still lives. We drove back and went out for dinner. We kept it a quiet night as we had a loooong drive back the next day! So next morning, up early and on our way to Dallas. On the way we stopped in Ponca City, where an Indian tribe lives. They had a memorial for Standing Bear, an important person in their history. You should read the link! Very interesting!
Kelley & Daniel are getting rid of their couch so we dragged it outside and lit the fire place. After we wend back to the Dutch Bar for dinner an drinks. MMMM!!! We had kroketten! Daniel and Thomas even had absinth! Ew! Anyway, great night!
In the morning we had breakfast together and then it was time to head back to Galveston!
We were greeted by a purring, orange, furry thing. We relaxed and made some stuff for Thanksgiving the next day.
We celebrated Thanksgiving in Sugarland, close to Houston. There was quite a few family. It was nice to catch up with everyone! Cousin Paige came back home with us to stay the night. She is in 8th grade so almost going to High School! The next day we had plans to go to Houston to meet up with Ms Nemitz, Thomas’ high school art teacher to visit the museums. So Paige went with us! We visited the MFA and Menil. Very cool. Of course we visited the gift shop! ☺ Uncle John came to pick up Paige and we went shopping for a little bit before meeting up for dinner with Thomas’ parents. At night we saw the neighbors getting a xmas tree, so we went over and sat with them for a while. Eventually we ended up driving to the supermarket to get one ourselves. Its huge and pretty! We bought some more decorations on sat, and even put lights around the window!
This weekend is Dickens on the Strand. Check out what it is exactly HERE.
I also managed to get all the xmas presents done, except Thomas’. So its been an eventful month and beginning of Dec!
14th Dec its my one year anniversary in the USA! I'm planning on inviting some people. Then the week after its time to go to Holland… FINALLY!!
