Great weekend aye!

So Fri was Thomas' birthday. We worked as normal and after work went home. He wanted to go to happy hour with some colleagues but i had emailed them to tell Thomas they couldn't make it. I didn't think it was a good idea for Thomas to be drunk before the party. :) So we went home, showered, got ready and walked out the door by 6.
The plan: I would take Thomas out for dinner. Then everybody would gather at our house for decorating etc between 6 and 7.30 and we would walk in at 7.45 for the SURPRISE!!!
But on the way to the Greek i got a message from Chris & Emily AND Betsy that that would be late, if 8 o'clock was okay... sure! 30 Min's extra.. I decided to add a drink after in a bar, to the schedule. So we had our Greek and this whole time i am sure he knows something. But how could he? Then he starts texting people to come over for drinks and to go out after! Nooooooooooo! That's not the plan! :) Anyway, i tell him we should go for a romantic walk along the seawall to a bar. He agrees and we go to Landry's for a beer. All this time of course i am texting with people. :) We decide to have a cocktail at the Spot. I need more time! We find out they don't do frozen drinks! It is only 7.45 so i need to think of something! So finally i manage to get him to go to the liquor store to get the ingredients for a frozen drink. Off we go to the liquor store. We take our time buying the drinks and walk out the door at 8.10. Good timing. I text back and forth with Betsy for the best SURPRISE!!! And they finally tell me they will be hiding in our bedroom and let us walk by the room and to then jump out behind us with their horns.
We walk in and Thomas walks down the hall while i wait by the door. In the middle he stops and turns around and says: Whats going on? Later he told me he saw part of a happy birthday banner and then heard people in the bedroom. But he didn't have enough time to think because then they jumped out! So funny. He had NO idea.
Betsy, Gabe, Chris, Emily, Aaron, Jennifer, Bobby and Laura were all there. Later Steve came and David. They had decorated it so nicely and even a cake! It was a great night!
We had plans for Sat and Sun: THE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL
! About 2 hrs from here. We packed our camping gear for the night and were on our way! When we get there its too late to go in the park as it closes at dusk. So we set up camp and realise how COLD it is! Luckily we brought warm clothes and enough blankets. We also brought beer... :) It was busy and filled with people dressed in medieval clothing. So much fun to look at! At night they had a campfire with people dancing around it and much more. We eventually went back to the tent and had beers before falling a sleep at 9!! Woke up at 7.30 after a good sleep and got ready for the day. We broke up the camp and drove to the festival at 9, which was a 40 sec drive.. The park is so cute! When we first came in they did the announcement for the day all old style on a square with lords and ladies. Then they did a dance and this girl comes up to me if i want to dance... sure, since you didn't put me on the spot at all.. :) It was fun!
We had some tea and coffee and walked around till the first show. That's was a hawk/falcon show. Very cool birds! After to the mud show where 2 comedians do a competition in the mud. The loser has to eat mud. It was pretty funny. We had some food but everything was overpriced. We left about 1pm. Drove straight home and laid under a duvet on the couch until 9pm bedtime :)
