Electricity for a few hours

We are at a friends place right now that has power. We just had a shower and feel so much better. We are re-charging our phones and our bodies.
Like i said, we evacuated to Houston at 4am. We got there in no time, there was hardly anyone on the road. The friend we are staying with is Thomas' best friend Wait. He has a small place but we are safe there. We slept some more while the cat sniffed around. In the eve we bought some more drinks and alcohol. Pretty much watched the news all night.
When the storm hit us it was pretty scary and bad. The telly kept turning off and at some point we lost power. Thats when i got scared. And things got worse. From the window i could see power cuts and just junk flying around. Katje was brave. Thomas and Wait slept through most of it. I didnt get much sleep. It was all very intriguing.

So since then we pretty much just sat around and drove around to see all the messed up stuff. Until this morning we hadnt seen any footage. Just friends telling us. From what we hear its bad in Galveston. All the businesses on piers are gone. Parts of the island are gone and my work has 2 feet of water. Our street we dont know much about. People say different things; between 3 and 6 feet of water. We have no word of when we will get power or when we can go back to the island. We think we wont be back at work for 2 weeks.

So no email or anything but our phone work! I'll put some pics up of Houstons damage. Other than that im sure everyone has seen enough.
